FAQ

What kind of cotton are you using?

All our cotton is sustainably sourced and either organic, from the Better Cotton Initiative or recycled. We are working hard to increase the share of recycled cotton as it is the cotton that is best from an environmental perspective. All our latest jeans collections have some share of recycled cotton or hemp blended with organic cotton.

Where are you producing your clothes?

We don’t own any factories but are working with talented business partners that help the Weekday design come to life. We believe in close and long-term relationships and are happy to share who we are working with and where they are located. You will find information about the supplier at the product page” or here.

Where do you stand on animal welfare?

Animal welfare is very important to us, and we say NO to real fur and leather. We have also banned Angora and Cashmere due to animal welfare challenges. We only allow animal hair certified according to Responsible Wool Standard, Responsible Mohair Standard or Responsible Alpaca Standard.

How are you tackling climate change?

The fashion industry is resource intense, and we must drastically reduce the CO2 emissions. As part of the H&M Group, our target is to reduce emissions across our value chain by 56% by 2030 and 90% by 2040 (against a 2019 baseline) and aim to achieve net-zero. We need to work in a more circular way going forward, like our Curated 2-nd hand and create new products that are made to circulate and use low impact materials, for example by training all our staff in circular design and increase the recycled share (today 24%). A high share of emissions appears in production which is why we’re investing in our suppliers to help them become more energy efficient and to transition to renewable energy.

What are your thoughts around inclusion and diversity?

Diversity, equality and inclusion are at the foundation of everything we do. We empower the diversity of the creative generation, staying true to our beliefs and teaming up with others that do the same. We support those who fight for freedom of speech and self-expression, civil rights and gender equality, the LGTBQIA+ community and BIPoC to raise awareness.

This is a great ambition, we’re not perfect and still have a long way to go. But we’re willing to question the status quo to learn and be better, every day.
